When I looked up this alternate lot on WAY.com, I found that they were running a special price for it, which would actually end up making my stay cheaper cheaper for them but not for me. I asked to be switched back to the Park & Jet lot that I originally booked 3 months earlier, but was told there was nothing they could do about this overbooked situation end of story. The next morning I called WAY.com and was told the Park & Jet lot was overbooked, and so they were moving me to a more expensive lot at WAY.com's expense. The night of Jan 31st I received an email from WAY.com telling me that my parking reservation had been moved to the parking lot of a Philadelphia hotel located beyond the originally paid for Park & Jet lot, and in fact, past the airport itself. The trip was set to begin at 2am on Feb 2, 2019. Back in the beginning of Nov, 2018, I was putting together a trip, and decided to give WAY.com a try booking and paying for a 9-day parking lot stay at my old standard Park & Jet. Considering the number of trips we take in a year, WAY.com sounded like a cost saving solution. I learned about WAY.com, a service based in California that was offering a lower price for parking at this same lot than if I were to deal directly with Park & Jet. It is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and has multiple shuttles operating simultaneously to carry passengers to/from the airport. It is a gated & lit outdoor lot where I know my car will be safe while I am away on a trip. The future APM will originate at the airport’s future ConRAC and stop at the parking facility before arriving at the Central Terminal Area. For a number of years we have used the Park & Jet parking lot when flying out of the Philadelphia airport. Until the completion of LAX’s APM, expected to be complete in 2024, dedicated shuttle buses for LAX Economy Parking will take travelers to and from the Central Terminal Area’s Arrivals Level. The parking facility also has green features such as energy saving lighting controls, low-flow plumbing fixtures, drought tolerant landscaping and recycled waterand dedicated parking spots for low emitting vehicles and car pools. The parking structure includes smart parking features, such as automatic entry and exit, electric vehicle charging stations and a shuttle to the central terminal area. The $294-million facility is made up of four stories and is located half a mile away from the LAX’s Central Terminal Area. ![]() “(It brings) travelers a state-of-art facility that will help reduce congestion, enable our airport to realize its full potential and create a more seamless travel experience for millions of Angelenos and visitors.” “LAX Economy Parking is a historic marker of progress in the midst of a once-in-a-generation transformation at the airport,” Mayor Eric Garcetti said at the LAX Economy Parking’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. Overall, these new developments are expected to save time and enhance the traveler experience. The $5.5 billion Landside Access Modernization Program aims to relieve congestion for people traveling to and from LAX and its mobility projects include an automated people mover (APM), consolidated rental car center (ConRAC) and a connection to Metro’s K Line (Crenshaw/LAX Line). LAX Economy Parking, also known as LAX’s Intermodal Transportation Facility – West, is the first major aspect of LAX’s Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) to debut. The amount of the discount will depend on the availability of spots and the amount of time booked in advance. The new facility operated by Los Angeles World Airports, the airport authority for LAX, brings 4,300 new parking spots to the growing airport and will have its own dedicated shuttle bus to transport travelers to and from the airport’s central terminal area.Īccording to LAWA, the drive-up rate for the lot is $25 per day, however, pre-booking discounts will give drivers up to 70% off that rate.
